During the 33rd ICA World Cooperative Congress, the ICA Board approved a new Rules of the Thematic Committee on Youth, a new body that will complement the existing ICA Youth Network.
The new ICA Youth Committee (YC)'s vision is to effectively and inclusively unite, promote and represent youth in cooperatives at the global level while promoting youth at the behest of the ICA and providing thematic advice to all ICA bodies to support their actions toward young people. Among other things, the YC aims to:
Promote cooperative values and principles
Ensure youth inclusion and mainstreaming youth in ICA policies, strategies, and activities, including in its regional and sectoral bodies.
Increase the active participation of young people in the governance and operations of their cooperatives and in cooperative structures affiliated to the ICA
If you are interested to promote cooperative entrepreneurship, empowering youth and supporting youth to play an important role in strengthening and rejuvenating the cooperative movement with the aim of protecting and promoting social, cultural, environmental and economic aspirations of future and present generations, then this is your committee!
